Achiving My Early Month on Spark

Friday, April 16, 2010

I decided to move my monthly updates from my spark page and archive them here with my blogs. So this blog is just my previous monthly updates, a much better place than my spark page.

One Month Done!!!!

Where does the time go? Did you happen notice the older you get, the faster time goes by? One month has already flown by. Well I have managed, one day at time, to make it through an entire month of tracking everyday, drinking 8 glasses of water everyday and even got some exercise in. The results...I lost 24 lbs this month-holy cow! Even though 24 lbs is a great accomplishment, it is a small step towards the 130 I truly need to lose. I truly believe small steps everyday, in the right direction, will ultimately lead you to your final destination or goal.

A picture is worth 1,000 words....I love the comparison picture idea-Many thanks to one of my Done sisters for that idea. I really see a difference, even after only one month....yay!!!!

Three Months Done!!!

Happy April! Well here I am starting my 4th month with Sparkpeople. March was not an easy month. I think I may have become a little lax with my working out and eating. Even though it was tough and the scale did not want to really move, I pushed forward. I am not giving up. Food will no longer control me. I've realized food was like a drug-I was addicted, the only thing is, you cannot just stop eating. With hard work and determination you can change your relationship with food and yourself.

I belong to a couple of really great teams and have made some good friends here. The support I receive has been a very important part of my journey to become healthier. I am so grateful to all of my spark friends and spark people creator Chris, for this great program. I would be lost right now without all of you!

Here is another monthly comparison picture.

Four months Done!!! I have started May with a bang! A few of us ladies have started the c25k (couch to 5k) program May 1st. Check back soon for a full report on the latest adventure on this fitness journey.

April month in review. April was a tough month. I still have a war going on with a plateau. I am determined to win this battle. I didn't lose one pound in April. I actually cried at one weigh in. It is really hard when you are doing everything right and you do not see any results. By the end of the month, I seemed to ok with stepping on the scale and seeing the same number over and over. I did not give up, nor do I plan to give up anytime soon. I am pushing forward with more determination! A few positive things about April:
-I started strength training finally and stuck with it all month.
-My food choices were good 90 % of the time.
-I maintained my weight.
-I lost 8 inches, that is right, 8 inches off my hips, chest, legs and waist.
-I have come so far since January 1, 2009.

Lesson learned: Weight loss accomplishments aren't always measured by the scale.

As I read your update I was thinking, this girl is making progress here! You are creating good habits and that is the best thing you can do for a lifetime. It will shape how you approach so many circumstances that you face in times to come.

You have lost 8 inches and it is a matter of time until that stubborn scale starts cooperating! You want this I can hear it in your voice (virtually :)

I am wondering, have you created the motivation/inspiration poster yet? I haven't, so that is one goal I have set for myself. I will start clipping and collecting all sorts of stuff. Then pick a day to assemble it all.

Thanks for putting this out here, keep up everything good you are doing for yourself!
