Dust Collector that was the Elliptical Machine

Monday, April 12, 2010

It is a rainy day in CA, not complaining we need the rain badly, but it does hamper the walking. So I was looking around for how to get in my cardio today without actually dusting off the Elipse that hasn't been used in months and months. Nothing came to mind that I could do for the needed time, so dusted off the machine and got started.

I had to stop just a couple of times to grab some water, but got in 48 minutes!!! The three miles I did on there burned double the amount of calories I would have burned on my 3.5 mile walk. Not going to lie, it was tough, and after 5 minutes I thought I couldn't l possibly go for more than 10 minutes, but I did. Stopped at 15 minutes to run to the kitchen for cold water, and grab a bottle of water to use at the machine. I can't believe how jazzed I am actually sticking with it to get in my 3 miles.

My new challenge to myself is to use the Elipse at least one day per week for my cardio.

Now off to find some good carbs to snack on!

Even if you get on the treadmill for 5 minutes on & off throughout the day, that is better than nothing. And as you increase the time by maybe a minute for one day, and increase a minute to the previous day's workout, then you will get stronger. I know that my personal trainer pushes me a little each time I see her. I know that she is doing it for my own good. So once I am own my own, I will have to be my best cheerleader in pushing myself to go beyond what I have done previously, but safely too. Glad to see that you have dusted off that elliptical. They are great! I use one at the "Y". emoticon

I just found an Elliptical at a Garage Sale last Friday. So far it has not gathered much dust.

What an amazing discovery! A bit of exercise equipment is being used for something other than collecting dust. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have a super-duper tread mill that makes a great clothes-drier for sweaters.. lol Now that I'm walking outdoors, it's been put to better use till Winter comes around again. emoticon

THAT machine is not very friendly to me. I try and try, but never manage to stay on it. It is sooooooooo uncomfortable to me. Seems I have to stay in a crouched position.
You did great. It is a great calorie burner, but not if you jump on and off in less the than a minute like me.
