1/2 "weigh" there!

I have just passed the 1/2 "weigh" point in my weight loss. For those of you who don't know me, this hasn't been a quick, easy process. In fact it was quite slow and painful for quite some time.

Somewhere between New Years and Ground Hogs Day, I committed. I thought I had committed before (started this in April '09) but I hadn't turned my whole life over to the goals I had set. I thought I could take a week off, or a weekend off, or while I was on vacation I could do what I wanted; but I had an epiphany that goals do not take a day off! A lifestyle change is just that: a change. It is not a "I will do this for now" but then later I will revert to who I was before.

So for those of you who have not been goal oriented; become so now. And then commit to them: not just by saying the words, but by living the words. It will be the difference between struggling back and forth; and charging ahead!

Good luck to you all; and more important than that, thank you Sparks and all those who have cheered me on! You have made all the difference in my life!

    Thanks all! I cannot believe how much stronger and more positive I feel! I know now, without any uncertainty that if I can do it anyone can!

    JanieLee, Congrats on the halfway mark! I am jealous, no not really. I am happy for you! I am at 40% there, soon to be halfway. Thanks for the insight on the lifestyle change. The reason I am doing well (albeit slowly) is that I have changed my lifestyle. I have always exercised, but it did not make up for bad eating. I read today that a poor diet with supplements is still a poor diet. I guess a poor diet with exercise is still a poor diet, too! So I agree with you and your decision. A lifestyle change is permanent and we don't take off days or meals or weekends. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy a glass of champagne when we reach our goals! emoticon
