Trying to Fight the Discouragement

Saturday, April 10, 2010

I'm starting to feel a little discouraged with my progress this last week. Not only is the scale not really moving, I don't feel my body changing either. I'm usually pretty attuned to even slight changes. Am I doing it wrong? Did I hit a plateau? Seems too early for that.

I started back on Spark 3 weeks ago. I have been tracking my food and fitness which is right where I have been told it's supposed to be. My only days where I veered from my "perfect" eating plan were planned. I knew they were coming so I adjusted other areas for them. i/e more exercise, fewer other calories

I know I am just having a moment but I don't want to sabotage myself so I'm saying it out loud. I would love to hear how anyone else has gotten past these moments.

I know when I first started out the numbers didn't move at all. I was in a month of working hard. Then all of a sudden my body caught up with all of this new movement and the weight and inches started to fall off. It could be the same situation. Just keep moving even when the scale doesn't, the important thing is that your health is getting better, everything else will just fall into place after that. Also have you been strength training? You burn calories during and after your workout when you strength train. Good luck!

Thinking of you & know you can do it! I've had to up the exercise a bit & be much more active during the day as my job is sitting at a computer for most of the day. I get up every few minutes and move around. Don't give up! Just take each day at a time & remember this is a lifestyle change not a diet!
