Really tired of this $hit.

So, I get diagnosed with the IBS-D, yay. So now I need to figure out the 'triggers'.

So far, it seems to be fresh, raw produce - the very things I'm supposed TO BE EATING.

Lettuce and tomatoes - I LOVE salads. I ADORE fresh, ripe tomatoes.

This sucks.

I want my salads. :(

So, for the next few days we're going to avoid the salads, and do steamed/grilled veg - asparagus, broccoli, etc.

Are the things I love the most going to be off-limits?

I want to cry.

I also have IBS-D, diagnosed over 6 years ago. My pregnancy started it and unfortunately, it never left. Leafy and seeded veggies are the bane of my existence, but I try my best to grin and bear it. Stress is my #1 trigger, however, like Cris76 said, losing weight and exercise really helps me out. Hang in there honey!

IBS person too... and yea, I get tired of that $hit too *cackles*

Honestly, I just plowed through it and took note of all bathrooms in the tristate area. I have no shame in the toilet anymore. Public restrooms or not, I don't care. If I gotta I gotta.

BUT - here is the kicker, the more weight I lose, the more stress I burn off on a treadmill, the less issues I seem to have. It is like my body has decided to be ok with the good foods and reject the bad stuff. McDonald's tears me in two.

I'd say work with your doctor but don't give up on a healthier lifestyle. As much as I hate to even say the words - there are medications for it.

So sorry to hear that your loves are off limits. Here's hoping it won't be forever.

I, too, have IBS, and my doctors and I are still trying to figure out my trigger foods. We've narrowed it down somewhat, though. We know for sure that I can drink water in moderation. I know. It's not really funny, but there are days that the only thing that gets me out of bed is what little sense of humor I have left.

Try to hang in there, and lean on the IBS team for support. There are a lot of people out here willing to listen and help out when we can. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear you are having IBS and food issues. I don't have that, but I know what you are talking about. I am allergic to the entire nightshade family - tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants. It is really hard to give up the tomatoes, potatoes and peppers. I haven't had nightshades in 10 years now, but I still desperately miss a sunwarmed tomato from the garden.

I hope your flare up resolves itself quickly.

I feel for you. I have IBS-C and sometimes I wish for IBS-D!! Not going for two weeks is not cool. I also have to avoid the food group I love most. Dairy. I love cheese. And I miss it. It makes me want to cry to sometimes too.
