Sugar - My worst enemy

Monday, April 05, 2010

At the beginning of this year, I decided to get serious about my weight loss and decided to give up sugar, salt and diet soda. I also started exercising again and I really started losing weight. Last month, I started allowing myself small portions of candy and I found myself eating more of everything, so my weight loss leveled off. I have gradually started eating more and more candy, and have found myself falling back into my bad habits of overeating. This weekend, in celebration of Easter, I ate 2 bags of jelly beans, and from there went completely downhill on a weekend binge. Physically, I feel awful after a weekend like this and my workout is really hard. I am not going to fall back into those old habits, so I have decided once again to give up sugar.

Sugar is my enemy too. I bought double pack of Peeps just to have one Peep of the 5 in a pack and ate all 10 of both packs! I have no will power once I get started. Secret... STAY AWAY! LOL But once it's happened we have to move on. Each time try to be stronger.

Don't beat yourself up. I bought candy for the family-but ending up eating a whole bag before I even put any out for them. I noticed that the first one tasted great-but not so much the more I ate. Enjoying one only to the fullest will be what I do should I need a piece of candy. I am not tempted by candy when it is not in the house though.

I had a similar experience, only instead of jelly beans it was chocolate and peanut butter filled eggs. UGH! I was doing so well without all the sugar and then ruined it in one day. So, you're not alone. Today is another day and as for me, I've reclaimed my self-discipline and am getting back on the wagon. Good luck to you as you also re-group!
