Back from VACATION!!!

Sunday, April 04, 2010

I am back today from an emoticon vacation in Myrtle Beach with my best friend Kristin! We had a great time. The weather was almost perfect--we had a rain on the night we arrived--and the company was emoticon. We )went to the Dixie Stampede, toured Broadway at the Beach, and Barefoot Landing. I think the coolest thing was both of us got tattoos on our feet. Kristin got a Lotus with a dragon fly and I got an adoptive family charm (a heart with a triangle through it) with cherry blossoms around it for each of my kids. It hurt like a son-of-a-gun! emoticon

I think that for the most part I did pretty well with eating responsibly. There were definite splurges--Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and some of the most fabulous Italian food I've ever had--but I was honest about what I ate and I made a good effort of recording everything that I ate. It was difficult trying to figure out some of the foods; but I think that it is a good sign that although I didn't feel guilty for the occasional splurge that I was still conscientious about making good decisions.

We made it to the fitness center 2 different days. It was really cool working out while looking out over the ocean. emoticon We also did lots of walking. Several hours a day most days. Heck--it was a 30 minute walk from 1 gate to another at Atlanta airport on my trip down!!! emoticon

So today it was back to the real world. After spending a week waking up to a view of and the sounds of the ocean my bed seemed so utterly bland!!! emoticon I love northern NY. If only I could figure out a way to put the beach in my backyard!!! emoticon I can't wait for to start planning for my spring vacation next year.
