Today was a wonderful Good Friday. First the weather had warmed to around 75 degrees and there was not a cloud in the sky. The sky was a clear dark blue. Beautiful. My dog, Isaac and I walked for about twenty minutes, curtailing our walk reluctantly because I had to get the house ready for our Friday night Bible Study. I vacuumed and dusted and cleaned the kitchen, got the coffee ready and iced tea brewed, the paper products out and the passover cheesecake out from the fridge. Then I went to my gym and worked out for an hour. It felt good to have an uninterrupted hour. Mind you I had not had a shower or put on a lick of makeup. Horrors! The door bell rang and my husband had just left for his trombone lesson. I was stuck opening the door. Hope they were strangers that I could quickly turn away. But no, there standing outside my door were friends from the past. I quickly let them in and we had delightful visit. They shared some very remarkable answers to prayer and I did likewise. Then they had to leave. I left for my bathroom and nearly scared myself to death at how I looked. If I had scared them, they didn't indicate it. Thats a wonderful quality about good friends. They love you no matter how you look. After that wonderful reunion, I took Isaac for another little walk and then people started arriving for the study. It was once again a rich discussion with lots of laughs peppered into it. We celebrated communion together and then enjoyed the treats that several ladies had brought. My cheesecake was nearly gone when I entered the kitchen so I had just 2 Tablespoons of it. Another lady had brought a wonderful veggie platter and so I richly helped myself. One of the ladies told me about her efforts at weight loss. I kept telling her how my totals on sodium were on the high side and my potassium was on the low side. Finally she said how do you know that? I told her about SP. Two of the husbands overheard our conversations and wanted to join. I told them I would send them an invitation, which I did. Finally, everyone left. I sat down to the computer to calculate my calories for the day. To my delight I was on the very low end of my allotment for calories. Sodium was in line but my potassium was low again. Tomorrow I must go get some bananas. I will retire tonight with a grateful heart for good weather, good friends, good health and a wonderful Savior. How could life be any better.
