No, I haven't fallen off the wagon...

Friday, April 02, 2010

Well, It has been a long time since I've posted on the message boards or written a blog entry. Today I'm ready to tell you why:
I'm pregnant again - and this time I've made it successfully past the end of the first trimester!

In January I dedicated myself to Boot Camp. I made fantastic progress, but at the end of the month I was really starting to get tired out. I soon figured out that I was pregnant and got in touch with my doctor at the fertility clinic. I was given a prescription for daily progesterone supplements until I reached the 10 week mark. My hormone levels were checked at least once each week. I became quite a regular customer at the blood lab!

When it came time to stop the medication I was nervous as could be, but everything went perfectly. I've had three ultrasounds and baby is looking great! I'm over the moon about it and so is hubby - although I think it took him a while to believe that it is really happening!

I've still been checking in on my Spark friends a few times a week and I plan to continue to do so. During my pregnancy my doctor would like me to aim for a moderate weight gain of about 15 pounds, so I'm still using the nutrition tracker to make sure that I'm getting a good range of nutrients and not going overboard on the sodium. I'm also using the BabyFit site but Spark has better trackers and a much more active community so I plan to stick around here too.

Big hugs to all of you. I hope you're doing well and enjoying these lovely early spring days.

Happy Easter!

Oh my goodness, I am so incredibly excited for you! Lots of hugs & prayers & wishes for a blissfully uneventful pregnancy. I'll light a candle for you - My Mum started that tradition when I got pregnant for the second time (I lost Peanut, my first), and we have had a lot of luck with it since then for family & friends.

That is fantastic news, Hil -
I'm so happy for you, and I totally understand your keeping this under wraps this time. You must be sooo excited! Enjoy your pregnancy - the babby will be here before you know it and your life will change for good. Get as much sleep as you can now, 'cos you're gonna miss it in a few months' time, lol!

I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly and you don't have to put up with too much morning sickness, swollen ankles, varicose veins and haemorrhoids.
    Have a very Happy Easter.

Congratulation and enjoy your road to motherhood. Remember get all the sleep you can for the next 24 weeks because after that your sleep will only be a memory of past occurrences. :)
