Also progress

Friday, April 02, 2010

I went to a AA lunch meeting - they start at twelve and I have a half hours drive so I don´t eat before the meeting. Took a cup of coffee - and two small cookies (different kinds) Nibbled the first and realized it tasted old so I put it aside. Nibbled the other - also an old, stale taste so I put that to aside. The both cookies lay in front of me through the whole meeting and I threw them away afterwards.

This is progress to me, because usually, once I had started eating them I would not have stopped, no matter how musty they were... so I am grateful.

Thanks for reading.

The fact they were 'old' also tells us you haven't been eating them all up at home. That, in itself, may well also be progress.

A packet once opened . . . and all that!

That is progress. Those are things we look for. When I stopped eating whole sweets, I started by breaking off equivalent of two bites and putting the remainder in its wrapper on top of a bin (for any homeless person). It was good progress, because over 2 months I stopped eating sweets entirely.

That is wonderful progress! I ate stale chips last night and this morning I wonder why I did that. I will try and draw some strength from you and make the right decisions regarding food today.
