Zumba Gold and Hot Toddies

I love teaching Zumba Gold…I love my peeps. They are so much fun! There is a lady named Ruth in the class; I instantly liked her. She has been coming to class loyally, every day. She reminds me of my mom when she was in her sixties. Because a lot of them are heading back up north, last week they gave me a card, which they all signed…I almost started crying!! On the front there was a picture of a crying baby…and it said, “No Zumba????” And at the bottom: “We’re leaving?” Then inside, it said, “Oh poop!” There is a group picture of us. And all those who are still here signed it!!! I know it was Ruth who made the card and got everyone to sign it.
That card is going in the fireproof safe!!!...LOL
I am exhausted. For the last three months, I’ve been teaching Zumba Gold five days a week. You’d think that I could handle one hour five days a week, plus practicing. You wouldn’t think it wouldn’t be that hard. I LOVE IT, but it is very draining.
Starting April 1, my schedule will change and I will teach two days a week…and this is for two reasons. One, the winter visitors are leaving, and I am sad to see them go. Two, I am tired and I need a break.
I took a short break the first of March because my body shut down. It was totally involuntary. I missed four classes. I hadn’t been sick in years. I was sick for two weeks! That’s when I discovered hot toddies…LOL. I was desperate to feel better. The lemon provides Vitamin C…the honey soothes your throat…the hot water helps you breathe…and the whiskey helps you sleep. Worked for me!
On April 11, I will get certified in Aqua Zumba. I know it will be a fun class to teach, but I can’t look ahead any further than that...today I am tired.
I think I never got completely over the nasty cold. The way I feel today, I’m thinking a hot toddy is in order again…LOL. And I’m not a drinker.
