You may have leadership potential!

Monday, March 29, 2010

First of all, let me explain something. My name is Deborah, it is biblical and derived from the Hebrew and means bee, honey bee or queen bee (depending on what source you use.) Funny thing is, I am allergic to honey bees and have to get allergy shots monthly, including bee venom!
This is a lady bug, since there are no bees in the emoticons.
But I digress, with purpose, but a digression nonetheless. You will catch where I am going with this when you read the rest.
The following was posted in the church bulletin a few weeks ago. I had read similar information elsewhere, but was glad to read it again. In fact, I thought I had thrown out the bulletin, and I really wanted to keep it for certain reasons. Again, you will understand once you read it.

You may have Leadership Potential

According to the laws of aerodynamics, the bumblebee is not supposed to fly. Of course he doesn't know that! His size, shape, and weight in relationship to his total wing-span, indicate that he could never get off the ground. Wind tunnel experiments and extensive lab tests by "experts" confirm this conclusion. However, the bumblebee, unaware of these findings, continues to zip through the air and zoom about wherever he pleases.

Others may underrate your capabilities and leaderships skills, but you can go right on helping others while the "experts" try to prove you cannot be a leader. You may be pleasantly surprised that you can do more than you -- or anyone else-- imagines.

Ah, now you get it? This was so personal for me, the bumble bee allergic to itself, that I loved reading it. We never know what we can do. Just like the little engine that could - I think I can, I think I can - we can be like the bumble bee and do the impossible!

Fly fellow bees, fly!

(ladybugs and gents too!)

Great blog, very thought provoking - I find myself letting my mind convice me that I cannot do something because it is too difficult - this was a great lesson that I need to retrain my mind not to view limitations - but to view all things as possible - thanks for the reminder and kick in the right direction. (I'm deathly allergic to bees too)
