Breakfast and tracking

Monday, March 29, 2010

A big HUG your way for everything you do, DH, especially making me a healthy breakfast every day of oatmeal(steel cut) with whey powder and flax and cinnamon. Wow, what a power breakfast.

Do you eat breakfast my friends ?

What about tracking exercise and nutrition on a daily basis. Anyone have any suggestions for better and regular tracking ? What time of day do you do your tracking? What works for you? emoticon

Cheers SP friends , to tracking better !!!

HI my little mouse! Been missing you, but you know....life!
I absolutely eat breakfast every single day as soon as the coffee is brewed. Sometimes I eat it while the coffee is brewing. I try to track my breakfast and lunch in the a.m. before I really get the ball rolling for the day. Post my snacks and dinner in the evening when I'm winding down for the day. The whole routine is getting to be a necessity for me to keep myself in control. Tracking, even though I may not have time to blog or talk to my friends, is definitely on my top of the list of "to do's" for the day.
Glad you took the time to post and I definitely want to wish you and Tim a delicious, fun spring!!! Hugs,
    MaryAnn

My breakfast is almost always the same: Cheerios & Skim Milk, a Banana, Grapefruit Juice, and a multivitamin. I track everything as soon as I can, and will often pre-track dinner to play what-if scenarios, and then after dinner I re-track it to adjust to what I actually ate!

As for whether I eat more or less than a rodent, a gorilla, a gator, or a tiger, I really can't say. I eat enough for me!

Awww KingTim getting some loving from his favorite rodent!!!

Don't forget about the awesome applesauce. I am trying some of that this weekend!!!

I am a fanatic when it comes to tracking. I eat 6 to 7 times a day. Although your beloved would say I eat as much as you.... a mouse that is... HAHA!!!

Tell that furry primate to send some oats loving my way!!!

I consider tracking as a cornerstone of success!
I track several times every day, playing on the tracker "what if" scenarios before I put anything in my mouth...

    As for my favorite breakfast?
One Finn Krisp crispbread [Hi Fiber 19%], 18 grams of Skippy Peanut Butter [Smooth], 20 grams of Danish Selections Blueberry Fruit Spread [not boiled], 1 level teaspoon of Valhrona Cocoa powder [the best quality cocoa on earth] and 1/4 of cinnamon [McCormick].
Nutritional Analysis: Cal 199, carbs 24, fats 9, protein 6, a lot of antioxidants [blueberries, cocoa, cinnamon], fiber, and healthy fats only...
Well balanced and Extremely fulfilling, no hunger for 3-4 hours to follow.

I eat breakfast. In fact I tried a sample of Kashi GOLEAN Crisp! Toasted Berry Crumble and I like it. I will probably use the dollar coupon and buy a box. I am impressed with the 8g fiber. Also today I had fresh strawberries. Our local grocery store was having a, buy one get two free sale. yum yum!

I try to track when I eat something, but I don't seem to ever get dinner tracked.

steel cut oats - way to go. ever try Bob's Red Mill cereals? They have at lest 3 different varieties of oats and steel cut is one of them. enjoy your breakfast tomorrow!

I am not a good tracker. It is easier for me to write in down in a notebook although the SPARK tracker is the way to go!

I try to track my breakfast and lunch first thing in the morning. If I know what I'm having ahead of time, I'm much more likely to stick with that plan. Dinner is a little harder to do because of my hubby's work schedule. I have a rough idea of what we'll be having, but once he's home and we've decided, then I measure everything right then and go upstairs to log dinner. Snacks I tend to do as I go, unless I have pre-planned snacks (sometimes I do, other times I decide as I go).

I do find that if I track early in the day, I'm far more likely to stay on track. If I save everything till the end of the day, I find I'm too tired and/or to actually log it.

Congrats on your furry primate making you a nice healthy breakfast in the morning! You two are so cute! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I track my nutrition in the evenings but i do keep track on either my dry erase board or paper when at work so i don't forget to log any food. My fitness is tracked after completion of the exercise.
I eat breakfast every morning but I have no set menu, I like all types of breakfast foods.

Lucky you! If I let my special person cook my breakfast, it would not be healthy. He is a wonderful cook, but prefers the Julia Child, Justin Wilson, or Emeril Lagasse methods. NOT the best for a healthy menu.

As far as tracking, I have been Horrible over the last few weeks. I am keeping up with my fitness, but have stopped tracking my nutrition. It is just so tedious to look up the nutritional values and input the foods. I wish the site was a bit easier to manouver for this. What has worked best for me in the past was inputting the nutrition in advance and planning out my daily menus for the week. However, I am not always the best in pre-planning for anything - more a spontaneous type of person!

I do LOVE steel-cut oatmeal! emoticon

I love oatmeal and SF carnation instant breakfast shakes for breakfast. I'm such a breakfast person, i could eat it all day. I track my food at each meal, or in the morning, depending on how busy I am. I only track fitness AFTER i do it. and I track each little bite i take. no sneaking around.

have a great week!!! happy monday!!
