Surviving Tonight's Banquet..

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Tonight is the annual Fireman's banquet in our town. There is no such concept as healthful choices at this dinner. Prime rib...baked potatoes...decadent deserts...salads premade with italian dressing...did I mention the most fabulous prime rib on earth?!? emoticon So I entered my food in advance and am prepared that for only the 2nd time since I've joined sparks pages I will be over calories. I'm planning on leaving my baked potato plain...although Lord knows they are emoticon loaded with butter and sour cream!!! I'm hoping that I have the will power to size up the meat and get a realistic idea of what the portion is so that I can try to stay around where I planned for. I can go without drinking the free booze...as long as they have bottled water I'll be ok there. I can also skip dessert and appetizers because I know that the meal itself will be a lot more than I am used to eating.

I just figured since I'm stressing over it already that I might as well vent a little bit. I toed the line this week and only lost 1/2 a pound so I am hoping that indulging tonight does not tip the scales in the opposite direction that I want them to go!

On a FABULOUS note...9 more days until I am on my way with my best gal pal to Myrtle Beach!!! emoticon That will be it's own special week of stressing over blowing the diets.

It wasn't too bad. I had to guess at portion sizes...but I think I got in just under 1,700 calories for the day. Of course my recommended portion of fat was outta site...but it could have been worse!

Just remember we all need to indulge a little bit now and then! as long as it does not become our all the time habit it is ok to enjoy yourself once and awhile!!
