Think I killed the coffee maker

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Well, tried to be miss molly homemaker today. Cleaned out the fridge, bathed Jolie, washed dishes, did laundry, cooked breakfast. I was really on a roll. And then I smelled something funny coming from the coffee maker. Apparently, in my madwoman attempt at getting everything done quickly, I had put ammonia in the maker instead of vinegar. Fortunately only one part to nine parts water but it bubbled up and made a real mess. I acted like I knew what I was doing when DH asked what the smell was. I've now run at least six carafes of clear water through the maker trying to rinse it.

Anybody know if I need to admit and just go buy a new coffee maker or will I be able to use it tomorrow? emoticon

I thought your blog was cute. I sympathise with you..Sounds just like something that I'd do. I think I would run some water in it a couple of times..I vote for keeping it. emoticon

I would just get another one if it were me, I have enough health problems without running the risk of poisioning myself with a coffeemaker -lol.

My grandma did the same thing a few years ago. She ran water thru it for 3 days straight before making coffee. But, she kept it and nobody ever got sick or anything... but if it was me, personally, I wouldn't risk it and just go buy a new one.
