He walked with Jesus...

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

One year ago today my wonderful father in law Arden Carlson, passed away. Well, away from us here on earth but closer to the one he loved the most. Dad loved Jesus. He walked with him and talked with him every day. He showed his character in everything he did. How he lived, how he talked, how he worked (especially in his work) everything was an example of Christ. If you met him you saw a piece of Jesus. If you spent any time with him you were introduced to Jesus yourself. Dad always had a song in his heart and he loved to share it. He sang when walking down the street , he sang on trail rides with the horses and campers , he sang while tending the fields on the tractor ... always songs of praise and thankfulness. Dad passed on as he was walking home from the post office. I believe he was walking along with Jesus and singing to his heavenly father as he passed from this side of life into eternity.. I wonder how many steps he had taken before realizing he was no longer on this side. The post master says that the last thing Dad said to him as he walked out the door was, "It's going to be a glorious day!". For Dad it was just another day with Jesus. I look forward to that day when I too can walk and sing along with him. See you soon Dad!
