Two days till Scout Niblett

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

It's been quite a week. I felt sad and devastated about some of the news that Life brought me this week. Yet, when I put things into perspective, it's no big deal. Time marches forward. I paste another happy mask on my face and and pedal on.

On Thursday, I'm going to see a concert. The awesome Scout Niblett, for a mere $5 at a little hole in the wall downtown. No one else I know even knows who Scout Niblett is, and I'm not sure how I stumbled upon her awesomeness. It sounds like the show is just her, playing a single guitar, or her playing drums. It's not for everyonve, but I'm all about it.

This song gives me chills, seriously.

There's a girl going with me, an old GF. It's not a 'date' date, nor do I really want it to be. But, I am excited to go out with another grownup and hang out with some good music. And possibly get my crunk on.

In other news, I'm going strong on my 100 pushups challenge. I can do 20+ in a row, and my workout sets are over 70 pushups now! You should see the awesome guns. Health wise, I feel good this week.

I hope you are all awesome today.

Wow - I love the song you linked! Thanks for introducing her to me.

For the past 15 years, I've listened to 8 hours a day of voice for my job. This has squashed my desire for more sound but not my deep love of music. I was an accomplished musician as a "youngun" and used to track all the latest, greatest, and newest. So every time someone brings me back to it, I'm grateful.

Ya know, I don't think I've ever gotten a sitter (just a hand-off to a playdate or relative occasionally) since my daughter was born! I truly have forgotten what being an adult is like.

Congrats on the push-ups!! I bet we'll be hearing about Al's Gun Show coming to town any day now!!

Get your crunk on? Seriously Al? Don't ever type that again please. It sort of disturbed me.
Absolutely love Scout Niblett. Seriously you always introduce me to the most random, obscure stuff that is so awesome. Kiss, almost made me tear up. It's beautiful. Thank you!
Oh by the way, good job on the push up challenge. You can do way more than me as I can't even do one.
Sorry, about your bad news too. If you ever want to talk, I'm here for you buddy. You don't have to pedal on alone.
