Reaching out during desperate times

Monday, March 15, 2010

Finding a voice to express the confusion in my mind. I don't know what leads a person to do such a desperate thing. It's hard to understand how someone can go into such a dark place in their minds that they commit such a desperate act in which they can take their life. It leaves devastation to those left behind. People if you see red flags in someone do what ever you can to get them help. If you suffer with such thoughts please please get help for yourself reach out and fight , don't give up hope.

I don't understand how a person can get to such a point where they see no other way to deal with the situation. I hope to never be in that situation. I'm so sorry for you loss. Keep your head up...it does get better in time.

Remember that your loved one had very little control of their own thought processes. The people who need the help the most don't reach out for help they just make the attempt. Please do not feel guilt. If this person did not reach out there was very little you could do.

I have seen a couple of bright shining lights extinguished by their own hands and no one saw it coming. One of them was even in a doctors care and it still did no good. Depresion is a brain disorder like cancer is a disease of the body and sometimes there just isn't a cure.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My mom's prayer group just had a request for Barbara who took her life this weekend also. We almost had this tragedy in my family but we were blessed and it turned out OK, it gives you a horrible sick feeling. You want to be angry at the person but as you said they are in a place in their mind where what they are doing makes sense to them. Keep the faith
