Sometimes motivation happens in spurts

Monday, March 15, 2010

I'm envious of those that keep plugging away and keep on track. It seems I go in spurts. I guess if I didn't have the spurts, I'd be twice the size I am, so I should appreciate them.

You hit is on the head with your second comment. You have to create motivation. It is not always there for you to push you where you need to go. Some days it will be easier than others. I have often used SP to for that motivation. Sometimes it will come just by reading the right blog. Just remember how good you used to feel when you were fit and riding your jet ski. Picture that moment and how it felt - not just how you looked - but how good you felt about you.

Thank you Nancy. I guess motivation doesn't come naturally. Instead you have to create it. That's where I've been going wrong. Hmm...

    emoticon ,

I must work on keeping my motivation going on a daily basis.
What keeps me motivated is to remain active in the teams I have joined and share. This is what has kept me at spark for the nearly 3 years I have been here.

I started slowly - 10 minutes a day I walked until I got 2 weeks consistent and then I kept adding at 5 minute intervals. This built consistency and confidence in myself which motivated me even more.

I am constantly finding new ways to motivate myself. The latest being reading the book - The Spark. It is awesome and helped me redidcate myself to wellness.

You to can have consistent motivation - I have no doubt!!
