Recovering from the Rodeo

Sunday, March 14, 2010

We had a blast at the rodeo. Didn't watch half of it and left during Toby Keith's 4th song because we got tired (and the box was getting a little rowdy). The tickets I'd been given were to a private box. My boss gave them to me. Worked out great for me. I already know the person who reserved the box and my husband, b-in-l and s-in-l had a great time with her and her other guests. Too good a time.

I broke my Lenten promise and ate meat Friday night -- I was too weak to pass up the baby back ribs. And I had two helpings of this potato salad that would, as my dh says, make you slap your mama. I asked the steward if the base was sour cream or whipping cream. He smiled so sweetly and said, "Both." And of course there was alcohol. I wasn't the dd, so I had more than I should have.

So, after logging in everything yesterday morning, I realized I had consumed close to 3000 calories! And 2300 of those were after 4pm. We did walk a lot but not enough to make up for it.

I want to ask you a question: if I consume 3000 calories on Friday butonly 1500 calories on Saturday, do they average out? It's not a healthy practice, but it would make me feel better.

Today is another day and I've started my Sunday morning with plain oatmea w/ a little flax seed, 1/2 a grapefruit, 1/2% milk and coffee. We're getting ready to spend the day at the state park, do a little bank fishing, grill some meat, and spend a lot of time hanging out in the woods. So even though my lunch and dinner today won't be totally healthy, at least I'll be breathing fresh air, soaking up Vit D, and moving around. Assuming I can get DH out of bed. Sometimes that CPAP works too well! emoticon

one day does not a week make - so don't sweat it! Of course, I also had two yummy purple drinks and a big burger on Friday, so maybe my encouragement is self-serving! emoticon

How cool that you could enjoy the rodeo. Spark people does say that you should use a weekly average and not worry day to day. So you are doing good.

I'm with ASTORRES1. Forget the food - you left during Toby Keith???!!! I am speechless (for once). Box seats, Toby Keith... and you're worried about the extra potato salad. Slap YOU, mama! LOL

Weight Watchers teaches you to go by the weekly total - one day in itself is not a tragedy if the rest of the week is pretty good. Walk a bit more - do a little extra strength training here and there, make good choices - and don't beat yourself up :)

i have seen it written many times it's what you eat in a whole week that counts to your weight, not just for i day. so by that i would say yes you can eat less and average it in. i have done this many times and it has worked for me. who in their right mind would've passed up those ribs anyway !!! now i am so hungry for a rib !!! i guess the grilled porkchop my husband brought in late last night will have to do.... it's noon here, i'm going to eat that porkchop and then a small dinner tonight....
    yummy yummy emoticon
