Day Fourteen - A Breakthrough

I just moved from Fast Break to Stage 2. After 2 weeks, I do feel better than I did before Spark. I have made progress. And today I had a breakthrough - I looked at my naked self in the mirror today - a first in a long time.

I usually avoid mirrors and I have not critically assessed my body in a long time. Today, I took the time to critique the state of my body without wincing or feeling disgust. I just took it in, this familiar body of mine.

It was a positive exercise. I could see how I need to lose weight. I did not hate myself. I just looked dispassionately and assessed the situation.

It was a step in the right direction. I am gaining courage to admit that I need to change. Change is in progress and I am grateful for it.
