Big Weekend so far...

Did C25K workout W2D2 last night on the treadmill. It was hard, but got through it. Yay! Weekday workouts seem tougher for some reason. Did W2D3 today around the neighborhood with the pup. It was in the low 60's so I think that helped the workout. Felt a lot better today even with no day of rest in between. Felt I had to do it to keep up with the team goal and to stay on track for myself. I'll try to do Tues, Thurs, Sat going forward to allow for proper rest.

Took my pup, Lucky, for his rabies shot today then went to a pet store. Couldn't figure out why he kept scratching, then rubbing his eyes. We got back home and I noticed that his eyes looked swollen and they were all pink around the edges. I googled for bad reactions to rabies shots and it mentioned swelling and to go to the vet immediately. Called the vet and they said to bring him over right away. Ahhhhhh!!! On the way over, he was lying down on his car seat with his head hanging over the edge....very lethargic....that's not normal for him at all. I noticed that his face looked like it was swollen as well. I was trying not to panic...checking to see if he was breathing while driving.....my poor baby.

Got him to the vet and they said he probably had a bad reaction to the shot. They gave him a shot of steroids and said he would be okay, but they wanted to keep him under observation for an hour. Ran some errands to keep my mind occupied. Went to get him and the swelling was gone and he was his back-to-normal jumping bean self. What a beautiful sight! R-E-L-I-E-F!

I had planned to drop him off and run errands after his shot. I'm glad that I took him with me on the first stop so I could be there to see what was happening with him. I would've felt terrible if something had happened to him while I was out. Lesson for me: monitor him after his vaccines to be safe. The vet also said that they would give him Benadryl before his next rabies shot to be safe.

Live each day to the fullest. Hug the ones that you love (furries included!). The biggest limits are the ones in your mind. Allow yourself to break free. Spring ahead and enjoy the extra sunshine. Lucky and I will be!! emoticon
