Lost 30 Pounds So Far!

I'm really psyched now! I just hit the 30 pound mark today. Nineteen of those pound have been since I joined SP on January 11, 2010. The more I learn, it seems the better I do. I'm really committed to exercising now. I don't do a huge amount, but I'm committed to getting something in. I don't particularly enjoy strength training, but I do it. I think if I had a gym in my house with all the machines, that would be more fun for me. I always enjoyed that, but I don't have time for the gym, so I do what I can at home. The great thing is, there are exercises I can do without any equipment...so there are no excuses!

I have become quite disciplined about what I eat now. I do have a small indulgence here and there, but for the most part I can leave things alone because I'm focused on the fact that they are NOT going to help me reach my goal. It's not just about losing weight. It's about becoming a healthier person. I am not an unhealthy person necessarily (except for some high BP readings during recent visits to the doctor), but I want to be more fit and more active and able to do more physically. I'm already seeing a difference in my walking.

I've started checking my BP each time I go to Wal-Mart. Last week it was 129/73. Today was 139/73...a little higher, but still way less than what the doctor's office was measuring. Next investment - a home BP monitor. I'll be checking daily then and will bring with me to my next apponitment in May. I keep having follow-up appointments because I absolutely do NOT want to go on high BP meds. I have never had high BP before and I'm not starting now! I especially don't want high BP and be pregnant...and over 40! Talk about a high risk pregnancy. That is probably the biggest reason I want to lose weight and get healthier.

I've got momentum and I'm not slowing down!!!
