Best idea EVER.

Friday, March 12, 2010

So, the other day, I had the best idea ever. I decided that would wear my brand-new, untried shoes out to the supermarket. (Feel the power of my sarcasm!)

Now, I was only walking around for 15 minutes, and already I could feel that the backs of the heels were cutting into MY heels.

When I got home, not only had I gotten two blisters in the folds of BOTH my heels, but they had already broken, and were open, and weeping.

So what I did, was I put some Sudocrem on them, put sticking plasters over them both, and went to bed. They were fine on Wednesday, when I went to the gym, but when I took the plasters off on Wednesday night and went in a shower, they hurt to high heavens.

I left the plasters off, and went to my bed.

Yesterday, I went to the swimming pool, and it didn't hurt at all, I thought, "AWESOME." So I didn't put any more plasters on last night, either.

Today, when I woke up, I started climbing down the stairs, and the SECOND that I stretched my right leg down to the next step, it was AGONY. The scab split in two, started bleeding like nobody's business, and it was just. Yes, agony is a good word.

So I won't be going to the gym today, to try and give them a bit more time to heal. I'm having to walk downstairs backwards and upstairs one step at a time, leading with my left foot and putting both feet on each stair.

It's a pain in the butt, but hopefully it'll all help in the end. I have this intro to SpinFit class on Sunday that I really don't wanna miss!

If you have aloe vera gel put that on it. In my house we have live aloe plants and we take a piece off when we need it. It really speeds up healing, its really great for alot of things especially sunburns, and its natural. Rest those feet, they need it, I know you will get back to it when you can. emoticon

Get vitamin E capsules and break a couple open on the blisters. cover with band aid and they will heal over night. emoticon

Oh ouch. I know exactly how that feels because I had the same exact thing a couple of weeks ago. And it seems like no matter what you do you are flexing the back of yourheel and the blister opens back up.

    I hope they heal quickly.

Don't know what kind of socks you wear but I recommend Thorlos. I used to sell shoes and accessories and though they cost a bit more, they are WORTH IT!

Thorlos feel like you're walking on a mattress! They will last for at least ten years, Thorlo guarantees your money back if your feet don't feel better after wearing them for a month, and since they have no cotton they wick moisture away from your foot.

I highly recommend you get the walking sock as the other types are thick and would require you to get a bigger shoe size. But unless you're hiking or camping, the walking sock will be all you need.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Oh boy that sounds painful ! Hope your blisters heal soon. I consider that one of the worst places to have blisters or cuts. Its worse than a papercut by my standards.

I have to tell you about the time I went for a two mile walk one way with my new shoes on. Then I again had to walk the two miles back with these blisters too.

There was no way I could take the shoes off in between. Boy, did I have some great blisters by the time I got home. My socks were all full of blood.

I have never tried that one again..LOL Take care and I hope the blisters heal fast...
