Tough day...but resisted over-eating

Thursday, March 11, 2010

I had a tough day today emotionally... I am going through some behavioral issues with my 4 yr old to the point that her teacher wants her to go to preschool again next year. I'm having a very tough time with this. She is smart (her teacher even says so), but she is having a hard time listening to her teachers, cleaning up when told, she dumps toys out just because. They are working with her to find out why these things are happening, but with Kindergarten registration happening now, the teacher is recommending she not go next year.

Anyway...I wasn't going to go into all of that. I was proud of myself for not pigging out on a bunch of carbs in the evening. I will admit I ate some, but I managed to stay in my calorie range & I only went over 2 on my carbs. Not bad for someone who is addicted to carbs as a way to cope with stress.

That is a hard one, being a Mom too i know how hard it is to hear your child needs to spend another year in a class instead of moving forward. we had the same problem with our youngest daughter, the extra time was hard because she wasn't with her friends, but good because she was able to mature more and then caught up to the later.
keeping control when things like that come along are real tests of willpower. And you did a great job. I know that string down the cookie monster when something has stressed me out is hard. One of the big steps in taking back our own body's is learning to stop and see if we need the carb or fat or whatever. That you were able to resist a bunge is a great step to taking control.
Good luck and keep up the great work.
