As I was going to my training session like I do on every Monday little did I know that the Lord would fully take over my session. I have a wonderful trainer named Matt I have been with for almost 2 months now and we are getting to know each other. The first thing he told me about himself was that he was a Christian. It was to my delight to find that out and I just praised God for that. I meet with him 3 days a week so we have gotten to know each other rather quickly. Since I have met Matt I have been praying for him and the Lord spoke to my heart and told me that he wanted me to talk with Matt about his walk with Him. I asked the Lord when would you like me to speak with him about this? The Lord spoke to my heart and said “You will know when for I will provide an opportunity of uninterrupted time for you and him to talk.” Which is difficult because Matt is not only a trainer he is the fitness director as well so to get uninterrupted time with him I knew would have to come from the Lord. Well that opportunity came on 3/8/10.
My day started off with a text from Matt and he asked me to pray for him. He said that he would fill me in on what was going on when I got to the gym. Naturally I texted him back and said I would pray for him, I prayed immediately after I texted him back and I knew the Lord was going to do something mighty that day in Matts life.
I got to the gym and Matt motioned for me to come into his office and from there he told me what was going on. Matt is a young Christian and he has yet to learn how to trust and lean on the Lord when life becomes difficult. He likes to be in control of all things going on in his life. Im finding out he is a perfectionist, everything has to be perfect in his life, and in his job in order for him to relax and have peace of mind. In this situation he was in he didn’t have control he was in a panic, I could see it on his face. He was frustrated, irritated and didnt know what to do.
What a delight it was for me at that moment because I knew this was the time that the Lord wanted me to speak with Matt about his walk with Him. As I sat and listened to him for about 15 minutes It was my turn to speak and right then and there the Holy Spirit took over. His words flowed out of my mouth for the Lord says in Matthew 10:19
“Take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.”
I love the word of God because you can always count on it and believe it will do exactly as it says it will do. I have full confidence full loyalty in the word of God because it has never let me down and its always there to uplift me and make me strong in the Lord.
I have to take a moment and thank the Holy Spirit for who he is and what he said and did that day. He is our constant helper, our guide, our counselor, our comfort and our peace. I am truly thankful to the Holy Spirit for giving me an ear to hear his voice and being obedient enough to do as he instructs me.
Before Matt and I knew it we both felt the presence of the Lord in that little office. It was so beautiful and Matt knew he was hearing from the Lord because he had this look of conviction on his face and he just sat there and listened with his head hung down and he said “Everything you have said is true, who is training who.” I said it’s the Lord Matt who is training you, for the Lord disciplines those he loves.
“Because the LORD disciplines those he loves.”
Then we prayed together Oh how I wish you all could have been there it was MIGHTY AND POWERFUL we both felt the presence of the Lord.
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
I get chills every time I think about it Matt repented of what the Lord had brought to his attention and he was so thankful to the Lord and then we praised him and we thank the Lord over and over again. For his grace, his patience and his continual love and forgiveness towards us. The Lord is so incredible he gave us a whole hour of uninterrupted time that is just how much he loves us. For the Lord to do that Matt knew without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord was speaking to him. If this weren’t enough Matt texted me an hour later after I got home and I would like to share with you what he wrote.
“Thanks for the wake up call this afternoon; its funny because right when I finished a meeting with my 6pm people my boss Mark and Ryan talked with me for over an hour about the same stuff (they are Christians as well..God is so good) and they confirmed what we talked about. Thanks Carol they said some encouraging things too while we talked and I opened up about some stuff it was so good. Thank you Carol for listening to the Spirit and talking with me. Its good to know I have a sister in the Lord like you Thanks!!”
I texted him back and I said “No thanks required I am just a servant of the Lord and I do as he instructs me. All thanks belongs to him, all glory and praise are for him. Its all about Jesus.
All I could do after that was lift up my hands in Praise to the Lord he gets all the PRAISE AND GLORY for that session and the sessions to come. To know that he hears and sees everything we go through, nothing is too minimal for you to go to the Lord with he KNOWS everything about you and he shows us everyday that he is never far away. If we just trust him believe him and take him at his word. To stand firm on his promises and his word when you are going through life’s storms and don’t worry or fret for his word says.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you,who directs you in the way you should go.”
What a POWERFUL scripture that is, jot it down keep it with you so when you go through the storms of your life it will remind you that the Lord sees everything and he will direct you in the way you should go. What a promise, What an AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!!
Lets always give him praise and give thanks not only for what he does for us but simply for who he is. He is our MIGHTLY LORD AND SAVIOR THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM!!! Take some time out of your busy day and just praise and thank him for who he is. He is HOLY HOLY HOLY!!!
