P90X Week Two Day 3

Week 2 - Day 3: Shoulders and Arms AND Ab Ripper X!!!
HUGE improvement over last week! Not only was I able to follow S&A with ARX, I ditched my 5lb weights for 10s and 12s AND did 12 -20 reps on every exercise! Where is this coming from??? I am totally amazed at my rate of improvement. S&A was 100% participation today. ARX was 95% but I’m still subbing crunches for full sit ups. Even with the increase in weights, I still handled the bonus round with ease. Throughout S&A, the only time I stopped before 15 reps was because I’d reached my limit and couldn’t squeeze one more in. If I could pound out a few more after 15, I pushed to my limit or to 20 reps, whichever came first. I think this is my favorite routine. Probably because it’s muscles I use every day and I already have a good amount of strength in them. No weight loss this week but I’m not really surprised since I’m building muscle as I’m losing fat, and there is no doubt I’m doing both! I’m going shopping for a HRM today. Thought I could get by without one but now I’m curious to see my calorie burn, etc. so I’m splurging. I guess I could consider it a prize for not only starting, but sticking with P90X for 10 days so far. I truly don’t see myself wimping out now. I’m half way through my first 3 weeks already and then I have a recovery week to look forward too. I’m also looking forward to checking my measurements at 30 days to see where I stand. As I look at my before pics, I already think I see an improvement. I’m not going to chance it by taking another set for comparison. For now, I’ll just look through my rose colored glasses and enjoy what I see. 30 days will come soon enough.
