..itchin' to get outside....

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

It's been beautiful spring weather here in Saskatchewan lately--several degrees above freezing. We've had hardly any snow and now it's almost all gone! While I am sad for the farmers and fearful (selfishly) for my camping season, this has made me very antsy to get back outdoors. Every day I drive down my mile long driveway guaging just how muddy it is--is today the day I can get out and walk the drive without dragging 10 pounds of mud on my shoes? (but that could be a good workout for my thighs!! LOL!) Not yet, but very soon--I'm thinking/hoping by the weekend. I do know that I've already committed my kids (well, ok, I warned them) to cleaning up the yard this weekend--yard work--yahoo--but this spring I'm looking at it differently. I'm looking at it in "calories spent" not in "drudgery done". This year I will be out there with the kids cleaning up the yard from the spring melt not my husband!
Kinda, really. lovin' this new attitude I've gifted to me!!

Isn't it amazing how our atitudes about things change as we continue this journey? I hope you are able to spend the weekend doing the things you have planned!

We hit 60's yesterday in South east Pennsylvania......I will walk in the cold and bike when it hits 40.
Love the attitude, I was like that about shoveling snow! Great cardio!

Its finally warm here (40's) and its raining all week. I'm itching to get outside too! I can only do so many exercise DVD's on Netflix before I start going spring fever crazy.
