It's never too late for an introduction

I've been an official "SparkPerson" for nearly a week and I realize that besides posting on the message boards, I haven't really introduced myself.
Well, my name is LaToya and I'm 33 years old. I'm originally from Louisiana but I was raised in Southern California and I call it home. I'm single, I have no children and I live alone (FINALLY!).
I have been chubby since I was a baby so I don't know what it feels like to be "skinny". I had always been called "fat" growing up so I always had the idea of dieting in the back of my mind as the thing-I-need-to-do-to-lose-wei
ght. So I guess it was around the age 12 or 13 that I started trying different "diets".
I've been on many so-called "diets" over the years but not "every diet you could think of" like I hear a lot of people say. Of the diets that I've tried over the years, some seemed to work for a while but I usually quit after I lose a few pounds and go back to my old routine. The others were just too ridiculous to even be called a diet in the first place.
So now, at 33 years old, I find myself about 100lbs overweight and, before this week, I felt like an "old lady". I was tired all the time and couldn't get myself up out of bed without moaning and groaning. I didn't have motivation to get up and move around! It was just me, this couch, my laptop and/or my TV, and whatever snacks I can grab real quick. We've been real good friends for a long while now...
...that is until I found this website.
In less than a week since starting with SparkPeople I've been up and moving again, I exercise everyday and I'm consciously making better eating choices. I feel better than I have in a long time and I just want to keep this momentum going! Who knows, maybe one day I'll finally see what "skinny" looks like on me...
