My Body is a Temple

Saturday, March 06, 2010

In I Corinthians 6:19-20 of the Bible it tells me, since I belong to God, that my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. By Jesus dying and rising for me, I was bought with a high price. God tells me to glorify Him in my body and spirit. I am grateful to acknowlege that my heart is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Since I have decided to change to healthy eating, I am no longer destroying my body. I know that all of the food and junk that I was eating was making me sick (and I mean literally). I have overcome many obstacles and problems in my life with God's help and I decided that this too is possible. Somehow, I separated my spirit from my body. Therefore, I just had to make up my mind to begin treating my body like a temple.

God has invested His power, His gifts, His fruit, and the life of Jesus Christ in me. My prayer is to always see myself as God's dwelling place and to honor His Presence inside me by the kind of life I lead. I want to bring glory to God in everything that I do, down to eating and drinking.

    Hello
I am reminded of a scripture (Philippians 3: 13-14) which says "Brenthen I count not myself to have apprehend, but this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Chrisat Jesus".
There is no failure in God. Our bodies are Godly temples. What we put into our bodies will show up after a while. I am committed to remembering that every morsel that I place into my mouth is the noursihment of my body and to enhance my life to a healthier lifestyle. Thanks for reminding me of my temple

Yes, I too have repented of being a bad temple keeper. We are supposed to be tem-ples, not dispos-als.

There are a few different parts of the Bible that talk about your body as God's temple. They tell you to take care of it and not deface it. I get a bit annoyed with some Christians who want to get some "work" done to make what God gave them even better. God made us all perfect. We just have to work to maintain (or get back) what He has given. Keep up your good work and healthy eating. You're getting closer to God's perfection every day : )

You've got it. I know that since I started living healthier I not only have more energy but I rarely get sick. I have more time to lead a productiv life and more time to actively serve the Lord.

His yoke is easy; His burden is light,
I've found it so, I've found it so.
He leadeth me by day and by night,
    Where living waters flow.
