Family celebration tonight!

Saturday, March 06, 2010

Thats right..its my grandpa's birthday celebration tonight. We are all going to Lonestar Steakhouse for dinner then my older sister and her husband, my aunt, uncle, cousins and grandparents, parents and younger sisters and i will be coming back to the house for....CAKE. Well, I dont really like cake, so I wont be eating it and wont have an issue declining it. This morning I have already googled "Lonestar nutrition facts" and their menu. This place gives ridiculous portions! I am going to have the grilled chicken (184 calories) but get this..you dont get just ONE chicken breast you get TWO! How crazy is THAT?! I will be eating just ONE thank you lol. For my side, I am going to get their steamed veggies, and will have water. Phew. I am SO glad I looked up the nutrition facts beforehand! Definitely is helpful. I would normally go in blind then probably end up thinking salad is the best choice when the nutrition facts give their salads a ton of calories!
In other news: I weighed in this morning to have the scale read 148.5 disappointing, yeah. But ill keep on truckin. I think I'm going to start upping my cardio. Not sure how yet. Maybe take advantage of group exercise classes. I have to keep with my training schedule for the half marathon, so I dont want to increase that or mess with that schedule. Maybe what ill do is get up early and run in the morning then after work take a group class after work...i have no clue!! It also depends on if I can actually get my butt up early enough to get to the gym in the morning. Definitely tough to do. I would say id jump on the eliptical for a half hour after running but the eliptical hurts my knees..weird i know but it really does! I hope you all have a wonderful saturday. It looks like its going to rain here...AGAIN! What is with this rain business?! I live in orange county for goodness sakes!

Good thing I read your blog. In one hour I am going out for dinner and should go into the restaurant prepared. I am have the Top 40 on my iPod and consider myself a kitchen dancer. While I am cooking and cleaning I dance around a lot and burn off a few calories.

I hope you enjoyed the birthday celebration.

I never used to think about anything except eating when I went out. Now I find that if they don't have the info on line so I know what I am going to have (usually a half portion with half to take home), I suggest that we go elsewhere.

I also carry snacks and with me everywhere I go, so if all else fails, I eat my stuff while they eat theirs.

Good choices, make sure you tell them steamed veggies with no butter...you will find they apply butter.
