Mixed feelings about SP perfect attendance award

Thursday, March 04, 2010

The up side is I was consistent and dedicated to my health program. I got the award, another plus, and bragging rights of sorts I guess.
On the other hand it says that I had time everyday to get on my computer, log my meals and exercise, check my spark page etc. Perhaps I would be better off spending that time doing more exercising, spending time with my loving family, playing with the dog, smelling the flowers, well I guess you get the drift. The other thing that bothers me is that it means that everyday I was within arms reach of our modern technology, a computer, an i-phone etc.
So I kind of have mixed emotions about that award!!

Enjoy the recognition and appreciate that right now you do have the time to keep up with your journaling and tracking. Its a great achievement and a goal many aspire to attain. emoticon

And there will be times when you can't get to that computer, so take the award when you can, you won't always get one! (unless you can get internet access while backpacking somehow!)

I try not to think of it like that... I've come to terms with technology being useful in my line of work and now I think of it as a tool for my weight loss. I also tend to do all of my tracking at night when I wouldn't be doing too much anyways. Right now, I'm typing this during a commercial break during movie night :)
