If We Had Children...

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

(preface: I have two normal, highly-productive adult children with successful lives.)

My 3rd husband and I tonight, goofing off with the poodles and generally being hysterical with each other as per usual.

Me: "You know, if we had children, we couldn't act like this."

Him: "If we had children, they wouldn't let us keep 'em, prolly."

I guess that's why Jesus made Poodles.

You will never have to pay college tuition for your poodles!

I'm way better with my dog than I would have been with a human child.

Dogs never take the car out and wreck it.

You never have to have those embarrassing discussions about birth control with dogs.

Dogs don't sulk if they don't get expensive electronic devices for Christmas.

When you say, "No!" they don't come back with the line, "But all the other dogs get to do it!"

There are never any arguments with a dog over the tv remote.

Dogs will eat the same thing night after night and be grateful that they were fed.
