P90X - Week One- Day One

Week 1 - Day 1: Core Synergentics
Wow! I knew this would be hard but I had trouble with almost every single exercise. I started myself off with 5 lb weights, in the exercises that called for weights. The push up exercises were the toughest for me. I had no problem with the lunge/upper body weight exercise routine. It’s similar to something I’ve done on my own minus the lunge. I find it amazing that while I can lift 50 lb grain bags and bales of hay, as well as doing bicep and tricep curls, kick backs and overhead presses with ease, I struggle to even to 1 of anything remotely resembling a push up. I definitely worked up a sweat and only stuck with the video for 50-75% of the reps for each exercise, but I feel good. My shoulders feel it the most, due to the push up portions, no doubt. I was surprised to be able to handle the plank exercises so much more than the push ups but still have a long way to go. It feels great having Day One behind me. Knowing that Leah and Alisa are doing it with me, is keeping me honest. There was no question I was starting today, no matter what.
Edited to add: In regard to my previous comment on being able to handle 50 lb grain bags with ease, that was BEFORE I completed Day One of P90X. I had to pick up feed tonight and struggled to lift the bags off the dolly, into the truck. What the hell am I doing?!
