Typical!

Monday, March 01, 2010

I woke up this morning, and from the off, I was able to stand up straight, no back pain, and I thought, "brilliant!"

Of course, when I woke up this morning, my nose was - possibly a bit TMI - crusted with snot, because when I went to bed last night, my nose was running like a burn. When I woke up this morning, not only was my nose crusted with snot, but I COULD NOT BREATHE.

My back stops hurting, and instead of being in pain, I have caught a cold!

I thought that, with my Vit.C. intake upped - I'm eating a lot of oranges of late, and have been doing so all of January and February - I wouldn't be catching many colds.

How wrong I was!

But the good news is that when I started working out at the gym today, it cleared my nose enough to let me breathe through it properly, and I'm hoping that every workout from now until whenever my cold clears up, that my nose will clear for it, because I really do enjoy breathing.

That said, my workout was awesome. I tried using the pec deck for the first time with WEIGHTS rather than RESISTANCE, and the difference it made was incredible! I could barely feel my arms when I was done, but I felt better.

Matter of fact, I've been feeling better after all of my workouts lately - I'm assuming this is the endorphins rush that people keep talking about - but I did miss swimming tonight, because Mum just wasn't up for it, and having gone for my gym session this afternoon, I really didn't wanna push myself too hard.

Tomorrow, I have an interview at the job centre to discuss my ongoing unemployment, and the job centre is right next to the leisure centre, so I'll be going in for another workout tomorrow afternoon. Back to normal, I hope, with swimming on Thursday.

And, if all goes according to plan, I will be rejoining Weight Watchers on Monday (I had a coupon that expired last week, so I'm waiting for this month's magazine to see if they have the same coupon available to a later date - it'll save me £4 the first month, which I really need it to do!) but I will NOT be following the Discover Plan; I will be following the Core Plan, even although Weight Watchers doesn't DO the Core Plan any more. I didn't spend that money on eBay for nothing!

So yeah. I'm looking forward to the next week - not tomorrow's interview, however, as it's an absolute waste of my time, nothing changes - and hopefully things will settle down now that my sister's back and we're all getting back into a rhythm!

Hope everybody's doing well. :) Happy Monday! Talk later~

I honestly have no idea what the differences are between the Core Plan and the Discover Plan.

But I'm thrilled for you that your workouts are going so well, and I wish you lots of good luck on getting rid of the cold! Homemade chicken noodle soup (so you can know what's in it, of course) and lots of tea and such are great; if you have something to keep your room humid, I'd suggest using it, too.

(This message brought to you by the way we both end up with wretched colds every winter and occasional summers, and without the humidifier we'd be dead several times over.)

Yuck to the cold, but I'm so glad you got in a good workout anyway and are feeling that endorphine rush! I love that feeling! Sounds like things are starting to have some forward momentum and consistency overall - Great work! Keep it up!

You have my sympathy on the cold front - I've had 2 in as many weeks, so I can feel your pain, sister! I hope you feel better soon. I'm glad it's not getting in the way of your workouts. Keep up the good work.

Best of luck at the job centre tomorrow - I know how demoralising it can be to be out of work. Have a great week.
