The 3 R's!!
Nope, not read'n, rite'n and 'rithmatic - REST, RELAXATION & REGENERATION!!
Reward your hard workout and yourself with some "ME" time. A good start is sleep - you need at least 6-8 hours a night. You need to relax, enjoy some fun time. All of that gives you RECOVERY/REGENERATION.
You really don't build your body during the actual workout time. You build your body during the 3 R's cycle. Your can work hours on end, but if you do not give your body a chance to recover - you do more harm than good - maybe even some damage after a while. During that down time, whether it be sleep, or just a little quiet time, your body heals itself and grows stronger.
This is a hard lesson to learn for some. Gotta work, gotta push, gotta do one more workout session in a day, gotta , gotta, what ya really GOTTA is RECOVER.
So the next time you question how your program is going - or why you are not seeing the results you were hoping for at this point in time - ask yourself if you are really giving your body a chance to REGENERATE??
Sleep in once in a while, stop and watch a movie, get a massage, sit on the porch and rock in the chair - at least for a little bit. Give your body a rest! It will reward you with the response you were hoping for!
