Have I Stalled?

I don't know whether to say my journey has stalled, or if I'm still working out the kinks that put me in the place I started. I feel like I live healthier today than I did 2 years ago, and exercise is definitely much more a part of my life, and I eat better, but I can't seem to put everything together at once to really move forward and see real progress..don't know what I"m waiting for, yet I feel like I try every day..

Just felt the need to say that publicly, so there it is.

    T, my friend, I could have written this blog. I think it's something many of us struggle with. That being said, you have made great progress with eating better and exercising. I hope something comes together for both of us, and soon.

    Hey there "T",

    I feel the same way. I am definitely eating better (albeit my portions haven't significally changed!), I am exercising 5 days out of 7 as an average and I feel better. My clothes fit differently (because I am toner), but my weight is still not where it needs to be.

    I agree with Lynn, slow and steady is the way to go and maybe (probably) I am waiting for that ahaaaaaaaaaaa moment too, but maybe there isn't going to be one.

    You have already made significant changes, all for the better I might add. If we go back to our old ways, we aren't going to be here for our sons....you and I. I for one will stay this course even if the weight isn't coming off in globs, it will eventually and I will be winning the race of my life.

    Keeep at it girlfriend, you are doing all the right things.....with a little bit of ooooopppppss thrown. IF we were perfect, how boring our lives would be and look at how many friends you would not have made!

    I'm sorry to hear it's not all coming together at the same time. Good advice below though. You are making positive changes on a permanent basis. It will come together in time.

    You've got so much going on, it's no wonder you are frustrated. You do try every day, and you succeed every day. I know it's easy for someone else to say, "look you are doing great" when you don't feel like it.

    I agree that, Slow and steady, or as you usually say, baby steps is the way to go. You know you have already changed your life, your life span, and your quality of life. That is the most important reason(s) even if you aren't seeing what you want to see; to keep going.

    I think may be we're all waiting for the same thing... to feel an ahhh haaa moment. But, in thinking about it, may be if it slowly becomes apart of your lifestyle there is no "ahhh haaaa" because it's just what you do. Just like there is no longer an "ahhh haaa" for me when I make it through the morning of Kindergarten, it's just what I do. But, believe me, 4.5 years ago when I took over this grade, every day was full of "ahhh haas".

    I know with me it took longer to get to my goal weight. My calories were at the high end and exercise at the low end. But as I increased my exercise I lost weight. Remember the all or nothing attitude may get you there quicker, but it doesn't make for life long changes. Slow and steady is much easier to keep on course (for me it has been anyway).
