Im sorry...WHAT?!?!?!

So my foot has been hurting me off and on for a couple weeks now and instead of slowing down my workouts (aside from the couple days I had to take of w/breathing issues and being diagnoses with asthma) I kept going, pushing through the pain. Finally the last two days it has become unbearable...I mean I had to stop mid-cardio last night! I decided that I had to go to the Dr.

Long story short I ended up in the emergency room today and they poked around on my foot, listened to what I said/how I said it hurt and when it hurt, took x-rays...the whole she-bang! So here is the "WHAT?!?!" Dr says that there are no obvious fractures on my foot but it sounds like a stress fracture which wont show on a regular x-ray. That will require a MRI or bone scan which requires an order from my family Dr. So for now, I am to do NO RUNNING, NO AEROBICS, NO LESLIE SANSONE!?!?!?! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? for TWO WEEKS!!! If I'm not better I am to get the MRI to check for sure about the stress fracture and I may end up in a boot or surgery.

He did say that I can use a bike if I have access to one or a gym. And luckliy my state taxes came in today so my hubby is purchasing the bike as I type (we had already decided to get one for the workout room anyway, so good timing I guess). So I will have that option for my cardio BUT....

I am just so devistated that I have to TEMPORARILY (I make it caps because it IS only temporarily) stop training for my 5K and everyone knows how much I love my Leslie dvd!!!

But life goes on, this will not stop me (I seem to be saying that alot here lately). I will bike my little heart out and focus more on my strength training...I have been neglecting that anyway.

Oh no! I would be devastated too but at least you are staying positive and amending your routine for what works w/ this bump in the road! I commend you for that!

All the more reason to start your ST, no? I'm sorry about your stress fracture though. I had one in my foot years ago and it was so frustrating.

Sorry about the stress fracture. That happen to me as well with my knee. I could not run or do any cardio for 6 weeks but I did use the stationary bike. With me eating health and using the bike I still lost weight. What ever you do "Do not give up". Keep a positive attitude even when you think things are not going right. I think that helped me a lot. Good luck! Let me know how it goes. emoticon

Sorry to hear about your possible stress fracture, hopefully all will be well in two weeks! I had one and was on crutches for a couple of weeks and understand how frustrating this can be. It was much longer than I liked before I could run again. ((hugs))
