Where did a week go!?!

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Well, surgery was 8 days ago - where did that time go? Oh yeah...spent a lot of that time sleeping. The diet has been progressing fairly well according to the instructions from the dietician - just having problems with the protein. What I enjoyed before right now tastes horrible....and just when I need the protein drinks the most! At least today should help a bit since I can start working in soft foods like scrambled egg and some other foods with protein. Had part of an egg for breakfast and did it ever taste great after two weeks of liquid!

I just wish Mother Nature would cooperate so I can get outside and walk. We had 6 inches of snow the other day and now the weather forecast for tomorrow is for more and they don't seem to think that the sidewalks in the residential sections of our town need to be cleaned. So I guess I better break out the walking for weight loss DVD for the week.

I go for my first post-surgery visit next week and hope the surgeon is happy with the progress to date.

Good luck with the post-surgery visit. It is disappointing to not be able to walk outside at this time of year. At work I can, because we have trail that is kept fairly clean. At home, there are very few people that clean their sidewalks. And I have three dogs that love to go for walks, so I'm sure they are looking forward to better weather as well. I do work out with my DVD and sometimes I just spend some time marching in front of the TV if I'm watching a program. Any kind of movement is a positive.
I wish you continued healing. Take care of yourself and take your time.
