Day 17 - End Overeating

I had an "aha" moment this morning. I've only got 14.5 pounds to lose, and I've got to get serious about working the WHOLE Beck book if I'm going to get there. The closer I get to my goal, the more important it is that I tighten up my habits.
So I was reading day 17-20 this morning and it blew me away. Wow, I'm not sure I ever even GOT this far in the book before! This is exactly where I am stuck!
Like many baby boomers, I grew up urged to eat everything on my plate because of all those "starving children in China." In Catholic school we collected nickels to buy foreign "pagan babies." (Anyone remember that?)
I absolutely have issues throwing away food AND not eating everything on my plate. I OFTEN, maybe even regularly eat more than I want/need so I don't have to throw it out, because it's there, or I've put something on my plate that looked better than it is.
This week I am going to work at (1) not eating crappy food automatically so it isn't "wasted" and (2) working Day 17 -- putting more than my allotment of food on my plate and then leaving the extra.
THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD!
