Finally I can say LIFE IS GOOD!!!

I'm not much of a blogger, and a bit of a rambler, but this has been the most amazing 3 day's I want the high to keep on going. I live in Rhode Island and it hasn't been very warm. Now I know that some people out there who are like yeah yeah, I'll tell give you cold, but being a beginner runner, it's been real hard to run in the cold (and I've learned I hate the treadmill). Every time I would get back in, it would feel like my lungs were burning. So it was such a treat from the 15degree weather to wash the salt off my car in 40 degree weather and get a chance to run.

After a good 5k around the neighborhood, washing my car, and some time on the my Wii Fit, I reluctantly did a body test and discovered I broke my plateau! You have no idea what that did to me!

I started off this adventure weighing a whopping 168lbs back in May 2009. Was startled by a scary picture of me (I'm only 5'1") and started training in a boot camp program at my local YMCA. To my dismay I watched the scale go up and up and up with the weight training, and I was loosing steam.... I eventually hit 173 before the scale finally started to go in my direction. I eventually hit 163 where I stayed for months. I tried everything to the point of extreme calorie counting. When I told a friend what I had been eating after getting the 10th degree she made me sign up here to write my food down, and at that point I realized I was border line anorexic ... no wonder the weight wasn't coming off. I was starving myself eating only about 200 calories a day after my major exercise routines.

Well Sparkpeople, got me going in the right direction, recording everything, water, food, exercise. And I started to do my most hated thing ever... Running...To make myself do it, I even entered a 5k coming up March 20th, and I'm surprised to see I'm actually doing real well!!

Well, long story short.. I upped my run Sunday because I was enjoying the weather... and for the first time I ran 4miles and didn't stop for air! My high was increased when Lance Armstrong's voice came through my Nike + system congratulating me on my fastest mile!!

Today I got on my scale after hitting a record calories and mile in SPIN class and it said a wonderful 155!!! I'm on my way to skinny!!

    Those plateau's can break you. Congrats on the run! Don't ever do that low calorie again... I'm larger and could not understand why I was not losing weight, besides long hours, stress, etc., but when I began logging what I ate, found I was under 400 - 600 calories a day. Amazing how if we eat too little or too much is bad for us and we have to work at that happy medium... Keep up the good work, you must feel amazing.
