Finally...the courage to tell you...

I'm 55...been pretty much of a couch potato in my adult life, but that's all changing now. Just got back from Costa Rica. I was a group leader for 32 students and 4 other chaperones. While traveling with students is certainly not new to me, participating in adventure-type activities surely is.
So, there I was...kayaking, hiking, zip lining, white water rafting, etc...and I realized...this was fun and I COULD DO IT! My Costa Rican leader, Erick, actually high-fived me several times, explaining that many times leaders my age tend to watch the kids instead of participating. HE WAS PROUD OF ME...and so was I! Losing 18 pounds before I left..and 6 pounds on tour...certainly made it easier to participate. So, thank you to all of my friends at Spark People. I couldn't have done it without you!
So, now what? Two more international trips this year, but more importantly, I have to keep this up at home. So, I just signed up for some spin classes at my school (the instructor is a friend, so she'll recognize my fitness level). If I just add a little bit every day to my daily routine, this can only get better.
And now, since I had the courage to sail across the tops of trees in the rain forest, I think I can take that final step...I'm going to tell you what I weigh. I'm going to change the format on my Spark Page. Doesn't seem like a big deal to you? It is to me!
Drum roll, please...I finally am under 200 pounds, I weigh 199...first time in about 15 years. So YIPPEE for me!!!!
