Ahhhh...Sunday Morning!

How many times have you said, "I don't have the time to exercise."???? How many???

While you may not "have" time - you certainly can MAKE time. How do you MAKE time, you ask??

First you make this part of your quest for health and fitness a PRIORITY!!! By making it a priority, you eliminate any possibility of anything else get in the way of accomplishing this PRIORITY!!

BE AN EARLY RISER!!!

Drag it out of bed earlier!! Get up and get started before the household starts to move. Don't touch that TV (or in my case the lap top as that is connected to the kitten who in turn connects himself to me and then I am dun!!)

Set the alarm. How badly do you want this anyway?? Don't say there isn't time - there is and YOU are responsible for MAKING the time. Nothing happens by accident. It's all in the plan. Plan to make time and plan to make it work! Fail to plan, Plan to fail.

I MUST do my workout first thing in the morning or it does not get done. I realize that abut myself. Oh, I promised myself time after time that "as soon as I get home from work I will..." never happens. I have the best of intentions. NEVER happens. So how do I plan to remedy that issue?

My alarm goes off at 4:30 every morning during the work week. Every morning. That is my plan. To get to spin class - I must leave the house at 5:30. This gives me time for coffee - a quick check in on Spark - pack my lunch and hit the door. I pack my gym bag and the car the night before. I PLAN!!! It takes a plan to make it all work.

On the weekend I allow myself a slower start. Sometimes I even sleep in until almost 8 a.m. - now THAT is a real treat. I have a workout schedule I follow - I do certain things on certain days. I keep a journal so I know that I am following (or not) the schedule so that with progress (or lack of) I can look back and see what I did or did not do. I never lie in this journal - if I screwed up - so be it - mark it down, it is what it is, and FOCUS FORWARD. Get on with the PLAN.

So the next time you say you don't have time - look back at your plan. Don't have one - that's the problem. Do have one - sounds like you might need to re-work the plan!! My PLAN is to be an EARLY RISER, so I know it gets done.

    I used to be one of those people who said "I can't workout in the mornings, I just can't get up that early." Well, I realized what you have, that I need to make it a priority or it won't get done.

    My plan, get up at 4:50am and head to the gym! Thanks for reminding me!

    You are right. We make time for what is important to us. We can make time to get together with friends for dinner, to watch our favorite Olympic event, to read that amazing book. So we can make time for workouts if it's important to us.

    The trick is in getting ourselves to think we are worth it....because we are!
