Four Days Post-op

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Well, the surgery went according to plan and I was released on Thursday morning. Since the first day, no major pain, just discomfort from the gas they put in me that hasn't "escaped" yet.

Today is the first day on the full liquid diet and so far, so good. According to the scales, even with some of the gas in my system, I'm down about 15lbs since the Wednesday before surgery. Yahoo!

Now if the tiredness would go away, all would be great but I know that'll come. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Congratulations on your successful surgery!! You are now on your way to a whole new you! YAY!! emoticon

I am 4 months post op and had the same issues you mentioned. I came through my surgery without any complications or problems whatsoever. The gas will pass (haha pun intended) just take as many short walks as you can, that helps it pass. I came home 15 pounds heavier than when I left and it took me a week to get rid of that weight, so you are doing great!

The tiredness will pass too, in a few weeks. I was exhausted for about 3 1/2 weeks, then I was ok.

Congratulations on your new life, you are going to love it!!! emoticon

Congrats! Glad surgery went so well! Anesthesia takes quite a while to get out of your system. Also, your body has been through a lot of trauma. Be easy on yourself. You need to heal!

Some of the funniest things I've ever experienced were the moments in the hospital between the families of the patients who had just recently had Gastric Bypass.

Can you imagine being with people you have never met and actually having the nerve to ask if their spouse has passed gas today? BAHAHAHA!

Good for you for taking the step you have. In two weeks, my wife will go in for her one year follow up. To date, she has lost 130 Lbs and feels beyond amazing. I'm very proud of her.

She too had a lot of fatigue but since that passed, it's been hard to keep up with her.
