Crazy food discoveries of the week

I'm going to do this list without any links because I'm confident those who are as curious as me will find much more from a simple google search than I can reference here:

Kids are getting gastric ulcers and kidney stones from their poor eating habits.. think of Flaming Hot Cheetos and way too many sports drinks. SERIOUSLY :(

Processed foods have a lot of really bad things you do not want me to mention here in small amounts. Trust me, its bad. I'm just going to tell you where it ended up... milk powder, and products with milk powder. Thats just the beginning.

Agave syrup, which I had used plenty until last week... turns out to be processed. The reason it is processed is so that it won't turn into tequila in your cupboard. And, it turns out that it may still make your blood sugar spark high like actual sugar (its actual glycemic index varies on the type you buy).
Alternatives (IN MODERATION): raw organic honey, organic cane sugar
BETTER SOLUTION: stevia, fruit (i still am not onboard with stevia.. gotta find a version without a yucky aftertaste)

    It all depends on the kind of Agave you buy. Check them out and you should be fine. It is interesting to me how we start to question things as we get more knowledge. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!! Never stop learning.
