Almost race day!

I am planning to run my first 10K on Saturday, February 20 in Mesa, AZ. I pretty much followed a 10K training program so I hope I can do this. Now I have two days of rest before the race and I am really going to try to rest!

    Thanks for all of your comments. This run was in a rather hilly neighborhood and at mile 2.5, I got a little worried that I wouldn't be able to run the whole thing. After mile 3, the course became flat or downhill, so I felt that I was running more easily. It turned out that I ran the 6.2 miles non-stop even though the temperature had dropped and it got windy. I had trouble with the Presidential Fitness 600 yard walk and run when I was in the sixth grade, so I am very proud that at age 55, I can run 6.2 miles in one hour, 3 minutes and 19 seconds!

    I've never ran before, and I'm doing a 5K in April. I've been trying to get myself prepared and have been slowly increasing my time. 10K! Wow! My ambition is to achieve that next year. This year I'll aim for the 5K. Good luck...you're my inspiration!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
