no sweets update

I have been doing good w/ the no sweets at work and here's what I decided... I asked DH what I should give up for Lent and he suggested snacks at work since I had skipped the Munchkins Monday and the MASS QUANTITIES of crap on Fat Tues. (I took a picture bc it's so unbelievable and I will add it then.) I decided to just stick to my streak and had another successful day today. The OLD me would've pigged out on Fat Tues and "started fresh" Ash Wed but I didn't :) Progress people!!

Now I am not giving up sweets entirely bc I have tried it a MILLION times and it backfires in a major way (i.e. binging). So since work is the MAJOR place I eat sweets I figure I will start there. The other place I struggle w/ is my parents' house (Italian fam w/ a mom who loves to bake goodies!) which I visit every Sun for dinner. My dad is also trying to lose a few/cut sugar so I suggested that we split dessert on Sundays instead of each having our own which he agreed to.

I feel great about my decisions this week and want to ride this wave til I see results and BEYOND!!

    Sounds like a great plan!

    My MIL is usually full of sweets too when we go there. She's always baking and has candy out I swear I'm cookie monster when I go there. I've gotten a lot better or I know better to even start.

    I haven't ever had good luck with totally giving up sweets either. Your idea sounds great and splitting dessert with you dad is a great way to cut back. emoticon

    that is the way to do it, I gave up sweets for 4 weeks, I succeeded, it ended on February 7, and it was not too hard, I had real cravings after about 1 and 1/2 weeks, but did not act on my cravings, and since the 7th I have had a little bit, I thought about extending it for another 4 weeks, but didnt, but I think I may try it again, soon, but I was really proud of myself, and am also proud of you, it is a hard thing to do,

    That sounds like a great idea and compromise and it'll do you both good. Congratulations! And congratulations on not binging, it's so hard when it's all out there to be eaten.
