Sunday on Monday!!!

OK - so the only one paying attention to my blog is Charlie - hey - that's OK.

GET HOOKED ON FEELING FIT - NOT THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE!!!

A couple of my teammates this week have spoken about getting on the scale before weigh in day. First thing that comes into my mind is WHY???? Why do you crawl on the scale when you don't need to? Do you not trust the process?? Have you not done what you committed to?? If you commit and follow through - IT WILL COME!! If not this week, next.

Is the scale your only measure of success?? I have my "thermometer jeans" hanging in the bedroom, right at the end of the bed. I cannot wait to be able to get my hind end back into them.

What about at the end of the day, when you have passed the candy dish (we have 3 in my office) and have not par-taken of the goodies. Does that measure as success for you? IT SHOULD!!

No sugary treat, salty nugget, glass of wine (wink, wink), gooey goody tastes nearly as good as LEAN AND SEXY FEELS!!

So tell me ladies - what NON - SCALE SUCCESS is important to you!! I sure hope you have one!!!

I can't tell you how many times I have let the scale defeat me,
just because I had a bad number.

It has ruined by mood, my day and I have even let it ruin by
program. I have let that scale turn a really good week into a binge because I didn't like the number.

I no longer do the daily weigh-in and find I am much happier and have much better weekly weighin's.

Today I avoided the "Fat Tuesday" Paczki!!!!

Really great to "hear" someone else saying what I have always believed. You gotta do this for more than the number on the scale and you gotta keep your eyes open for the successes! We are strong, we are invincible, we are women!

My NSV is reading several chapters in Galloways book on running. My goal is to run a half marathon in October and finding safe ways to reach that goal is a victory for me! And, I ACTUALLY got to read uninterrupted for 30 minutes!!!! (Three kids doesn't allow for personal reading!)

Since your weight on the scale can vary up to four pounds over the course of a day, you are absolutely right that the scale is not the best measure of one's progress. I love it when my cardio fitness is such that I can run 3-5 miles without stopping or without puking. I love it when my muscle fitness is such that I can win an arm wrestling contest with my 15 year old wrestler son. And when, last week, I was yelled at in the halls of my kids' HS, because, from the back the security guard thought I was a student. That was a definite NSV. Too bad be knew I was not a student the moment he saw my face, but that's another story.

I had a NSV today. Went to the movies - no popcorn and only 5 milk duds. That is a big success for me!

Thanks for reminding me to take notice of the little things that will all add up to bigger things in time!
