...and now for something more serious....

Saturday, February 13, 2010

been slipping in small steps. I really don't want this to happen. No school this week so I'm totally taking htis time to recommit myself--make all my good progress habits again. I also need to take some time this week to figure out how to organize my day to make my healthy habits a priority during busy school weeks. Other people do it and I know I can too--just gonna take some adjusting.
Wish me luck or give me a kick in the pants (I could use both!!)!

Haha, I could kick you to get your butt in gear! Organizing and prioritizing can be hard and confusing sometimes. Don't forget to start small. Try prioritizing one thing at a time. Then gradually add in other things. I'm a list person, and I always make to do lists (most important tasks first!) and goal lists. It really helps my to focus everything. Then I fold it up and put it in my purse!

I'm so jealous you live on a farm! I love the country. I always thought I preferred the city until I met my boyfriend and realized being out of it is so much better. When I finally become a big girl (or get my credit straightened out, whichever comes first, lol) and buy a house I want to be out in the country.

You should definitely get the wii fit. Omg, I played with it all day on Thursday with my son and I was so sore yesterday!

Well, I gotta get ready for work. I have the same patient that I had yesterday and I had her sleeping like a baby when I left. Hopefully the night shift nurse didn't ruin all my hard work!

    See ya later!

Here's your swift kick in the pants! If I can do it, you can do it! I must say, that the big difference for me right now is that I have a friend who is posting her daily progress as a status on Facebook. I see her progress and want to match it.

Ok, so my friend definitely gets me motivated, but I have to keep myself motivated. I can be negative at times (a trait from my mother), so this is truly my downfall when I do poorly. A change I've made recently is to put a positive statement in place or to replace a negative statement.

Negative Example: I have too much homework to do. (college student)
Positive Example: I will focus better after I work out and get more done in less time!

    Hope this helps.

My take on this time around with weight loss has been that I can only do it just for today. Every choice I make (stairs or elevator? candy or carrots?) all has to be motivated by does it take me closer to or farther away from my goal. If I break it down into smaller steps, it isn't so overwhelming. Sometimes the big picture is just too much to handle. You CAN do this.
