One month later and still sick...ugh!

Thursday, February 11, 2010

I am getting really frustrated. I have been sick for one month and I'm still coughing...and coughing...and coughing. I am so sick of cough drops that I could just scream. I went back to the doctor today as I had my annual physical scheduled. Last week I pulled a muscle in my back when I went through a major coughing fit. After spending the weekend with a heating pad, I felt much better on Monday. On Tuesday I was walking in Walmart and the same muscle spasmed and has hurt like hell ever since, especially when I cough, which I do all the time. The doc prescribed vicodin, so I'm hoping that will help and I can start to heal that muscle. He said if my cough isn't gone within 10 days that I need to come back in. I think I should be getting frequent flier miles or something at the doctor's office!

Because of my coughing, and now my back, I haven't been able to really exercise. I have my Wii now and I was actually able to find the Wii Fit Plus with the balance board online (it is sold out everywhere!) and that was delivered today. I've also ordered the Biggest Loser and that is on it's way. I know this is just temporary, but it is frustrating. Any kind of exertion sends me into major coughing fits, which makes my back hurt. I'm so sick of being sick!!! It will be the best day ever when I wake up and don't have to cough!

I had to drive up to Waco on Tuesday, and as always I was super early for my appointment. So I found myself in Target. I ended up buying a new pair of jeans (in the misses department!) size 14! My size 16s were getting too baggy. I have also ordered some new spring clothes (capris, boyfriend jeans, shirts, etc) all size 14, and they fit. I think that has been the best reward for losing weight--buying smaller clothes in the regular departments and having people notice that I am actually getting curves in the right places.

I am supposed to weigh in tomorrow morning, but I am staying home with my heating pad. I doubt I've lost anything since I've not been exercising. I ate well today; I did have a small piece of chocolate cake, but I still managed to stay within my calorie limits. And I actually tracked everything I ate today. I don't know why I have found that so hard to do lately. I'm trying also to start reading the Spark book, but just haven't. I can think of a lot of excuses why I haven't, but I need to get myself into gear. I'm hoping this is all because of being sick.

Enough whining. Hopefully I'll be able to try out my Wii Fit Plus SOON!!!

Hope you feel better and the doctor can get to the bottom of the coughing. You don't have asthma do you? That is how mine started at the age of 40, a cough that lasted for months. I just started with the Biggest Loser workout. First day I was so sore I had to rest a few days because my thighs were screaming!

I feel your pain...although I'm only on a 5 day run with the coughing, it's intense, and I too, am sick of it!!
    Also, love the Wii Fit!
